hi there,
as promised here are some details about the ‘BBC Emulator’ for the Apple Mac.
it’s available for 39 u.k. pounds plus VAT from Human Computer Interface Ltd,
25 City Rd, Cambridge, U.K. CB1 1DP (tel 0223 314934). as far as i can tell from
various sheets of info sent to me, it is a FULL emulation system and uses a
pre-compiling technique to maximise speed. i therefore assume it runs as fast
as a normal beeb(?). apparently all standard calls and vectors, OSBYTE, OSWORD,
*FX, VDU,function keys, 4 channel sound (plus envelopes) and DFS/ADFS commands
are implemented. ONE EXCEPTION are the PLOT 25 fill commands, these are NOT
implemented. software can be zapped over easily from a beeb if you buy their
serial cable link (25 quid!!). cheaper to make your own.
so for Mac users, this looks like a pretty neat system for 39 quid.
i’m still going to work on my Mac BEEB emulator (in pascal at the moment).
